West Hill Lake Park for the City of Auburn

There is something amazing about helping improve your local community. I played around this lake as a child and making it a full on park was a personal dream come true. When The City of Auburn hired us to create this park we had a lot to do! We cleared and grubbed, mulched and macheted new trails around the entire lake connecting the neighborhoods on both sides, giving the residents access to the park. We built picnic tables, benches, and the Eagles club volunteered their time to help build a new bridge. We built a fully retained gravel parking lot, took down mountains of blackberry bushes and other invasive species, and created stunning viewpoints for the community to enjoy. This park has brought such joy to the local community and we were honored to build it.

Before creating the new trails, benches, picnic tables, swings and views a lot of clearing and mulching had to be done. Our guys were up to the task, clearing the entire path in 3 days.

After the clearing comes the building. Tons of tons of gravel, mulch and beauty bark were brought in to create compact trails for walking an biking.

We built benches and a swing at a few viewpoints along the shore of the lake. Creating wonderful spots for the community to relax in the tranquility of nature.

The biggest change for this neighborhood park was the addition of a parking lot. Now friends and family from down the road can drive over to this scenic park. After clearing and excavating the parking lot site we had 30 tons of dirt delivered to create a safe platform to build on and retain. We also widened the main entrance making it accessible for walking, biking, and strollers. Did I mention we finished in the snow! Nothing our team can’t handle!

If you are a parks department manager or a homeowner who lives near a park that needs improvements give us a call. Making our community a better place is what we love to do!
